In June I was commissioned to make a sculpture to remember and celebrate the life of Wendy who worked at the theatre, and who died very unexpectedly in January of this year.

She was a vivacious and popular person and many friends and colleagues contributed to the sculpture.
The design developed from conversations I had with those who knew her and incorporates some of her personality traits and  loves. i.e. she liked a glass of wine, dancing, cats and flowers, especially lilys.

The carving was made in an existing Cedar tree that had grown too big for the space in among several London Plane trees at the front of the theatre. The life of the tree has become a fitting tribute to the life of Wendy.
